Welcome to the Georgia Genomics Facility

The Georgia Genomics Facility is a UGA core sequencing and genotyping laboratory. The services we offer for sequencing include traditional low- and medium-throughput Sanger sequencing, as well as high-throughput 454 sequencing.  We also offer various genotyping services.  Fragment analyses (microsatellite DNA and AFLP) are run on the ABI 3730xl, whereas we have various platforms for SNP genotyping (BeadXpress, Open Array, and high resolution melt curves via realtime PCR).  Real-time PCR services for gene expression and SNP genotyping studies are available using a Roche 480 Lightcycler.

The GGF is under the umbrella of the Office of Research Services and benefits from the computing, networking and management experience of ORS to fulfill its mission.  Although the GGF’s primary mission is to assist in the research at the University of Georgia, we offer our services to the general scientific community and have a nationwide customer-base.
